About Peter Draper

Peter studied classical guitar with Susan Ellis and Antonio Losada, and jazz guitar with Bruce Clarke. In the sixties he appeared on national television on Graham Kennedy's "In Melbourne Tonight". He performed in folk clubs and show bands, backing John Farnham, Julie Anthony and others, while working as a guitar teacher at Allans and several schools. During a five-year stay in the US in the late seventies Peter performed widely as a classical and jazz player and was principal guitar teacher at the Mission Conservatorium in San Francisco.

Returning to Australia, Peter toured schools extensively for the Australia Arts Council with his "Australian Heritage " show. He has performed in Japan and Indonesia, and has been active as a classical and jazz performer as well as guitar teacher (privately and at Melba Conservatorium.) Peter has also worked in recording studio work and film scoring.
